Operation Christmas Child Shipping

If you would like to keep track of your box, you can go to samaritanspurse.org and pay online. You will print out to labels with barcodes. Cost is $7 per box.

Your specific barcode is connected to your e-mail address, so it’s important to use the same label on each of your boxes. The barcode on the label enables us to track each shoe box gift. You will receive an e-mail telling you the destination of your gift, along with information about Operation Christmas Child in that country. Operation Christmas Child

A friend of mine, Jessica from thisblessedlife.net is hosting a giveway sponsored by Operation Christmas Child. We as a family would do this via my kid's school. And this year despite the  fact my kids are in college or adult, I decided I would do this in honor of Justin and Jessica. Also, I was listening to Focus on the Family this week. They had an inspiring story of one of the receipients. A young girl who had to go to school with no shoes and there was snow on the ground (listen to FFOTF for the accurate details). Anyway, to make a long story short, God provided her with shoes. So, I was inspired by her story to once again participate and to provide shoes/sneakers for 2 little children. My husband had doubts that he could fit all the stuff in a shoe box, but I told him, "It will fit" thinking God will get it in there somehow and He did.

I do want to make one thing clear, you don't need to spend a lot of money in order to participate. Buy what you can and God will bless whoever with your gift. God is not concerned about the amount of money we spend but just our attitude in giving. So, find a shoebox and fill it up with new items for some little boy or girl. Check out OCC site for a list of things that are acceptable because these boxes do go around the world to many needy children.

Echo Park For The Record 2

Hello-Finally received Echo Park Paper Company's, newest release, For The Record 2 Tailored and Documented. These kits include 12 - 12 x 12 double sided papers, 1 set of element stickers and alphabet stickers. Journaling cards have been added as part of the double sided paper.

I am not sure which one I like more. Tailored includes a vintage flair stickers from old fashion sewing machine, mason jar, scale and of course different floral patterns and colors.

The 12x12 double sided paper includes small and large floral prints, damask, lace, ad's, notions and borders. Colors include red, orange, pastel and black.

Documented includes an old fashion camera, clothespin and crank ice cream maker for stickers. The colors in this kit include green, blue, yellow, brown, tan and black. Paper style features dots, diamonds, numbers, floral, chevrons, doily and several other patterns.

My Mind's Eye On The Sunny Side

I was scrapbooking this weekend and decided I wanted to use My Mind's Eye, On The Sunny Side. Beautiful papers and whimsical die cuts-I love the pinwheels. Bazzill cardstock, Kevin and Cricut cartridge was also used (can't remember the name of the cartridge though).

The Girls are Growing Up!!

Here is a picture or two of my ladies. They certainly have grown in only 4 weeks. We now have 12. Their home has changed to from the tub to a large dog kennel-double sided. Their appetite has increased as well as their size. I am waiting for my husband to fix the coop before I take them outside and I am really not sure they are ready; some look like they have all their feathers and some of the bantams are just getting their feathers. Some breeds seem to have a language or sound all their own. I am glad I don't need a permit for this-we live in an agricultural zone. However, a friend of mine in CT would have to pay $360. to have chickens-that is crazy. Well, have a good weekend everyone. Enjoy the sunshine.

Meet The Girls or Chickens

So, what are chickens doing on a scrapbook blog? Well, I decided I wanted to raise some chickens and get some good eggs this summer. Yesterday, my husband and I went to Tractor Supply and purchased 6 baby chicks. My son's girlfriend also has some chickens, so I plan on asking her for 3-4 because they lay blue eggs. If I could locate some Silkies, I plan on buying them too. I really want an Eclectus male baby parrot but I am afraid it will scream and all that stuff that some parrots do. We do have Oliver, my Senegal and of course he has his moments but it is tolerable.
By the way, we use to have chickens years ago so we are not totally ignorant of chickens. Anyway, here are some pics of my baby chicks. These particular chicks are California Whites-good egg layers and hardy.

Do you go to church? Studies show that people who go to church usually have lower blood pressure, less anxiety and better health. I am not saying, going to church will cure these problems but it can help. If you are not going to church, look around and find a good Bible believing church. Or, find a small Bible study group and build some good relationships. We learned today that having relationships with other people can help us mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Back to Normal

Last night, our son came home with two of his friends. One of the kids bought a Marshmellow gun from Cabela's. It was quite entertaining as they shot each other with mini marshmellows. It was amusing to say the least.

Well, my sweet girl has begun her journey back to college. Tears turned into smiles once her companions arrived. The girls were laughing and giggling as they watched Scott try and pack the trunk of her car. Once that was closed he had to strap a bookcase onto the back. Not to mention another bag, stuffed animals and some other items sitting in the backseat. Needless to say it is going to be a very cozy ride back to college for the girls sitting in the back.

Now life does get back to normal.

Wow, I can't believe its been nearly 2 months since I posted anything. I will try and do better. Should you not hear from me, send me a message. To busy with holidays, family, school, ebay, online store and life in general.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Our family sure did. Our daughter came home from college and is now staying with us for a few more days before she returns. I already miss her and she hasn't even left. My in laws left for Florida last week.

My husband is putting in a tile floor. This project is taking a lot longer than I anticipated (you know how it is-wives always think it can be done in a day and it takes our husband's a month-lol). I am hoping he is done shortly. The real problem is I wanted the tile at a 45 degree angle along with the decorative tile, etc. So, we compromised really because my kitchen is just not big enough to accomodate my big ideas-ha,ha. But the tile is going in at a 45 degree angle and I get to have the decorative tile only it is going to be around the table and not the entire kitchen area. This will sure look nice once it is completed. See pictures below.
